How To Disassemble Office Chair Cylinder
This is the most difficult part to remove. Faced with this problem, you must consider what to do with your chair: discard it or reuse it.
If it is discarded, you can use tools such as pipe wrench to disassemble the Gas Cylinder. We do not recommend using a pipe wrench. Doing so will damage the gas rod and reduce its lifespan to one month.
With blankets or waste cardboard, protect the surface of your table and the floor where the cylinder will land.
Most recommended way: Usually, chairs with gaslift can be adjusted in height. Raise the seat to the highest position. Press the height adjustment handle with one hand. Shake the chair cushion vigorously.
Generally, it can be removed in 10 seconds. Please do not loosen the height adjustment handle when shaking. If it is difficult to disassemble, two people can shake it together.
This method has been around for a long time. It won't have any impact on the air rod's service life. No extra tools are needed either. We highly recommend it.
Other way: Tighten your pipe wrench as near to the mechanism as feasible to your cylinder. Once the pipe wrench is tightened to the cylinder, spin it a quarter turn until it comes free.
The simple thing is to replace your cylinder. Arrange the base vertically on the floor. Replace the cylinder with the new one in the base. Simply take up your chair and position it over the mechanism's hole.
Once the chair is secured to the cylinder, sit in it to secure it. That is all!
